2006 Sponsorship Proposal

Executive Summary

Auto racing has long established itself as a sport with a loyal following. Today, major companies are recognizing that racing venues provide an opportunity for brand exposure unlike any other. While radio and TV spots are short lived in nature, a race team sponsorship can provide multiple impressions within a day’s racing activities and reach an extremely large audience over the span of a season. Unlike many race teams, Vigilante Racing is made up of people with an understanding of marketing as well as an extreme enthusiasm for motor sports. We know that your sponsorship comes with a responsibility of sportsmanship and ethics as well as a drive to win. Vigilante Racing is pleased to be able to offer your company the opportunity to become a sponsor for the 2006 drag race season. Sponsorship of our cars provides long term corporate exposure at a reasonable cost.

Team with a Winner

Competition runs high within the team, with each member striving for continued consistency and performance improvements. Our success means that you get more exposure throughout the event. Some of our recent wins include:

  • Fun Ford Weekend Modular Motor Class, Winner, Englishtown, NJ, 2005
  • Fun Ford Weekend Quick Ford Class, Winner, Cordova, IL, 2005
  • Fun Ford Weekend Modular Motor Class, Runner-Up, Orlando, FL, 2005
  • Fun Ford Weekend Gallop for Gold, Winner, Atlanta, GA, 2005
  • Fun Ford Weekend Gallop for Gold, Winner, Bristol, TN 2005
  • Fun Ford Weekend Gallop for Gold, Winner, Ennis, TX, 2005
  • Sealy Street Warriors 8 Second Index, Winner Lone Star Raceway, 2005
  • Several Semi-Final and Quartar-Final Appearances, Misc. FFW Events Nationwide, 2005
  • Quck Ford, semi-finalist, Gainesville Raceway, June 2004

The People

Vigilante Racing is an independently operated team of James Meredith and Loyd McBride who work for a major software company as a marketing evangelist and an application support specialist, respectively. James and Loyd bring both personality and maturity to your race team. The team philosophy fosters enthusiasm and respect for the fans to allow both the race team and sponsors to reach their mutual goals.

The Cars

Team members own, maintain, and operate their own cars. All cars perform in the 11-13 second range in the ¼ mile. Vigilante Racing is currently campaigning two cars:

Zinc Yellow 2003 Ford Mustang Mach 1

Pearl Blue 2000 Ford Mustang

A proper mix of cars allows us to compete in both Ford and non-brand specific events as well as entering different classes in the same event based on speed, car equipment and engine type. This diversity in classes and events means more exposure for our sponsors. It also creates more excitement for fans.

About Sponsorship

While sponsor logos are displayed on the racecars themselves, exposure can also be gained in a variety of places, depending on the level of sponsorship. Team member attire, transport vehicles and pit area are all potential locations for corporate logos. For remote events, transport vehicles and cars will display sponsor signage during event related travel. Race vehicles always attract attention, and that attention translates to exposure for our sponsors. Upon arrival at the event, Vigilante Racing will locate and setup an area in the pits as their support area. This area may be marked with banners, signage, etc. with sponsor logos. During competition, each pass the race vehicle makes in time trials or eliminations places the sponsor name in front of thousands of race fans. Local and national media also attend the events in which Vigilante Racing will be participating. Representatives from national magazines and local television stations attend major events, where candid shots of entrant vehicles are common. Top placement in any event could get both car driver and sponsor name published in many magazines and websites. Many of the major events at larger tracks also offer the opportunity for corporate tie-ins. Hospitality suites are available for entertaining local clients or other guests with catered meals. This casual atmosphere provides our corporate sponsors with a chance to do business while enjoying a day at the track watching our cars run.

Sponsorship Levels

The following list includes a few possible sponsorship packages:

Event Sponsorship - Car or team sponsorship, for a single event. Approximate cost for this level is $300-$500* per event.

Team Sponsorship - Car or team sponsorship for an entire season. Cost of team sponsorship is dependant on factors such as exclusivity, signage, level of team commitment to corporate events, and the sponsor's willingness to donate or discount their products. Team sponsors may also provide team apparel such as golf shirts, t-shirts, and caps featuring the team and corporate logos.

Contingency Sponsorship - Major parts suppliers or race sponsors often offer contingency awards. These awards increase the race winnings, provided that company's logo appears and a qualifying part is used on the winning car throughout the event. Unless otherwise agreed, contingency sponsorship will be sought whenever possible.

* An additional approximate cost of $100 will be required for a sponsor's first event to cover signage, if any.
